About D&M Dialogue
This blog was initially set up as a research journal for Michael's post graduate diploma in secondary teaching at the University of Canberra. The course is largely based online, and a blog or similar online journal is (all but) essential for completing much of the assessment. However, Michael didn't want to put effort into a blog no one would read, so he asked Dante to bring his knowledge, wit and humour to the site. It would then also act as a means for them to keep in touch from opposite sides of the continent.
As you've probably gathered, the site is still (very) young, but the intention is for this to eventually be a place where people of different backgrounds in different places will find something of interest. We intend to write on topics of interest to us, but also with relevance to the general public. Some of what we say will be controversial. Generally, it is intended as such, and comments enriching the dialogue are welcome.
Though there will be posts unrelated to Michael's course work, the site will remain academic in nature. That is, regardless of what we write about, opinions will be clearly stated as such (and there will be many!), with any facts, figures or statistics referenced. If you think we've made any claims on the site which are unqualified and unsupported, please let us know immediately. Similarly, we expect that any comments made to our posts will be equally qualified or supported. Please check your facts and find references before you comment!
